Regional Cooperation in the Western Balkans and Kosovo’s participation in regional organisations

“Identifying the best ways to approach regional cooperation in the Western Balkans

29 March 2021

Balkans Group organized a roundtable with members of civil society and experts of the field, to support the delivery of the component “Advancing Regional Cooperation & Good Neighborly Relations”. This component aims to identify the best ways to approach regional cooperation in the Western Balkans, throughout different societal levels.

During this roundtable, the experts focused on the overall challenges of the regional cooperation between Western Balkans states. Furthermore, they discussed the best possible approaches and benefits which Kosovo could take in the already-established regional cooperation mechanisms, and lastly, the participants proposed new, feasible and tangible, initiatives which could serve the purpose of enhancing Kosovo’s participation in the regional setting.  They all agreed that the government of Kosovo needs to clearly define Kosovo’s core priorities and objectives in regional agendas.

This activity was organized within the “Elevate peace, state-building, and European Agenda” project with the financial support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Prishtina.
